The IDC Annual Dance Competition offers a unique, structured event where young dancers can showcase their skills and perform in front of a live audience and professional judges.

How it Works
The competition is divided into different groups based on age, dance styles, and ensemble classifications to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Age
Minis | Ages 4-7
For our youngest dancers who are just starting their journey in dance

Pre-Competitive | Ages 8-11
Young dancers who are beginning to gain experience in performing
​
Juniors | Ages 12-15
A more advanced group for dancers who have been training for a few years
​
Seniors | Ages16+
Our oldest age group, often consisting of dancers with longer dance experience
Dance Styles
Participants can perform in a variety of styles, catering to their strengths and interests
​
Classical Ballet
Traditional ballet technique, showcasing grace and precision
​
Contemporary/Neoclassical/ Lyrical
A blend of classical technique with modern movements. Classical lines and movments may still be used.
​
Modern Dance
Emphasizes freedom of movement, more acrobatic and usually with floorwork. Classical lines are not necessary.
​
Character Dance
Story-driven performances that incorporate theatrical or folk styles. (Mazurka, Czardas, Polka...)
​
Jazz Dance/ Show Dance
Energetic, rhythmic, and often upbeat performances inspired by pop culture, and or "broadway" style.
​
Hip Hop/ Street/ Commerical
A street style dance focused on freestyle movements and rhythm
​
Choreographic Composition
Abstract or mixed styles of dance that don't fit into a specific category.
Ensemble Classification
Performances are categorized based on the number of participants

Solo/ Variation
1 dancer performing alone
​
Duet
2 dancers performing together
​
Group
3 or more dancers performing as a group
Judging
Each performance is judged on the following criteria.

Technique
The dancer’s ability to execute movements accurately and skillfully
​
Artistry
The dancer’s emotional expression and connection with the audience
​
Choreography
The creativity and originality of the performance (for non classical pieces)
​
Stage Presence
Confidence and professionalism on stage
Awards and Prizes
At the end of the competition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be awarded for each category.
Additionally, special awards will be given for Most Improvement, Greatest Artistry, Best Overall Talent, and Best Teamwork, Best Choreography. Scholarships and gift vouchers will also be awarded.

Our jury is composed of professional dancers, teachers, and choreographers from prestigious stages across Europe. Each member brings their experience and expertise to ensure fair and insightful evaluations. Judges are well rounded in all styles of dance. Masterclasses
Take advantage of our masterclasses taught by our judges all of whom are industry professionals.
The masterclasses will be held on March 1st and 2nd, 2025, and are open to all dancers, not just competitors.

This is a great chance to refine your skills, learn new techniques, and work with our esteemed judges before performing on stage in front of them.
Masterclass Schedule

March 1, 2025: A full day of masterclasses in Ballet, Contemporary, and Commercial/ Hip Hop, giving dancers exposure to different techniques
.
March 2, 2025 (morning): Pre-competition warm-up classes, designed to prepare dancers before they step onto the stage.
**Full schedule will be announced at a later date.
Competition Schedule
IDC will begin on March 2, 2025 at 13:30 and run until approximately 22:00, starting with the minis category, followed by the Pre-Competitive division, Juniors and finishing with Seniors.​
At the end of each age category will be the Prize Ceremony. Participants are expected to wait until the end of their age category for the prize ceremony.
